The Venue
The Inn at Whitewell originated as a small manor house for the keepers of the Royal forest in the 14th century. It was converted to provide a resting place for travelers en route to or from Lancaster in the 18th century and has remained a well-loved haven for walkers, ramblers, fishing parties and birdwatchers ever since. In 2010 the Inn was introduced to a wider national audience as the first gastronomic high spot of Rob Bryden and Steve Coogan’s tour of fine dining in the North of England on BBC2’s ‘The Trip’.
